Brandauer’s global presence has never been so distinguished

October 18, 2018

It’s clearly exhibition season, as Brandauer prepares for its 3rd and 4th industry trade shows in as many months.

After What’s New In Electronics in Birmingham and Coiltech in Italy, Brandauer are hoping for the same positive response to its ‘all under one roof’ precision metal stamping capabilities at Hanover’s EuroBLECH. Positive response, in particular to Electrical Steel Lamination and EloPin® capabilities have given Brandauer the confidence to venture back into the European market, not just for EuroBLECH but for Elmia Subcontractor in Sweden the following month.

In November, Brandauer set off for Sweden, where a joint presence with MAN Group members, Muller and Kimber Mills at Elmia Subcontractor could put new markets and opportunities within reach.

Brandauer’s global presence has never been so distinguished.

EuroBLECH: Hanover, Germany

It’s the world’s largest exhibition for the sheet metal working industry, covering the entire sheet metal working technology chain and attracting visitors from small and medium-sized companies as well as large enterprises who are looking to source a variety of different manufacturing solutions.

Over the course of 4 days (October 23-26), Brandauer will be sharing space with Yamada Dobby (Stand 27, Hall E103), where the supplier of high precision presses will have a machine on show, running at high speed with a Brandauer tool inside.

The running NXT-50Wi press should get lots of attention and therefore, the opportunity for Brandauer to showcase its speciality in the manufacture of high-speed precision stamped components in difficult materials and its unique tooling capability is huge and the benefits of doing so are evident.

The press and tool combination, along with the shared stand space, marks a recent investment that Brandauer have made in its own Yamada Dobby long bed 80 tonne power press.

Also, and quite strategically, Brandauer will be promoting its selective plating capabilities.

Selective Plating in high demand

Selective plating is a sought-after service for many manufacturers but more and more, lead times seem to be increasing, particularly in Germany where supply can’t keep up with demand.

Quoting 52-week lead times on selective plating isn’t unusual in Germany, so visitors to EuroBLECH may be interested in alternative international suppliers – That’s where Brandauer come in. Brandauer’s capability in selective plating answers to industry demand by securing capacity with local UK sources, bringing the average lead time down to just 4 weeks.

Brandauer’s very short lead times on selective gold, silver and palladium plating should turn a few heads in Hanover, as will the benefits associated with using the service. Brandauer can offer potential cost reductions on precious metal in localised areas down to +/-0.127mm on stripe width, with the aid of custom-made belts.

Elmia Subcontractor: Jönköping, Sweden

Brandauer won’t be doing its first Swedish exhibition alone. A joint presence with MAN Group members Muller and Kimber Mills, as well as technical partners Bridgewood and Polycast are all present under the Mora CNC flag (Stand D03:47).

This collaboration of independent companies, all sharing a space at Elmia will go a long way in representing a number of manufacturing principles at the subcontracting level, with different capabilities and nationalities working together to provide a total manufacturing solution.

Elmia Subcontractor (13-16 November) is the leading exhibition in Northern Europe for suppliers to the manufacturing industry. Yearly, the exhibition attracts about 1,200 exhibitors from 30 countries and up to 15,000 visitors. The exhibition is an ideal occasion to learn more about the industry and the opportunities for new business in Sweden.

One area where Brandauer regularly differentiate and one which will be showcased during this show and the aforementioned German show, is its unique tooling standards and capabilities.

3 unique press and stamping tooling standards

Brandauer has continuously invested in the latest technology to ensure that a complete tooling service is available to its customers – From prototype and design to full in-house production of press tools, as well as a specialist tool transfer service.

Brandauer has identified 3 unique press tool standards and a process to achieve the transfer of established press tools with minimum production disruptions. Refer to our previous blog to learn more about the Standard Fixed, Precision and Modular tooling standards.

Brandauer has invested hundreds of thousands of pounds into having the best technology for the in-house design and manufacture of progression press tooling. Multiple Agie Charmilles wire EDM machines, fully integrated with CAD/CAM mean that a wide array of tooling options are possible.
