Brandauer’s story of electrification: Part Two
As the plans for electrically powered vehicles ploughs on and signals the end of the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2040, there will be heavy demand on PCB manufacturers.
Brandauer has been named as the Midlands best exporter at a gathering of more than 250 of the region’s finest manufacturers.
The company, which operates across 22 countries including Israel, Saudi Arabia and Germany, beat off competition from seven other finalists to take home the International Trade award at last night’s Made in the Midlands Awards.
It impressed judges with the way it has increased sales to £9.2m over the course of the last twelve months, including £1.5m of new contracts secured for grab rings, a turnkey tooling and stamping process and stainless streel frames for a subscription razer company.
Organised by Insider Media, the gala dinner highlighted the importance the region plays in UK industry and there were a number of rallying calls for firms to embrace Industry 4.0, innovation and, importantly, take responsibility for driving the education and skills agenda.
Rowan Crozier, CEO of Brandauer, commented: “This was a fantastic celebration of manufacturing expertise with major aerospace specialists, pet food companies and innovative footwear makers all competing for the main prizes.
“We were up against really strong companies and were delighted when we were named as Exporter of the Year for the Midlands, highlighting the fact that 85% of our direct and indirect sales now head overseas.”
“Most of the products we make are invisible to the user, but fundamental in making many everyday items work effectively. These include electrical connectors that are fitted in 90% of the world’s kettles, edge connectors for the dimming of rear-view mirrors in 50% of modern-day cars and 7 million nose bridge clips per month – used predominantly in medical/personal protection face masks over four continents.”
He concluded: “I’ve got a fantastic team at Brandauer and this award is for them. They always go over and above what is expected of them and this translates into world class performance and efficiency for our global customer base.”
Brandauer will now represent the Midlands at the national Made in the UK Awards, held in Coventry on June 20th.
