Manipulating difficult-to-work-with materials for decades
The plumbing and construction industry is one of the most demanding industries within manufacturing. With long-lasting components needed to make up plumbing elements in both residential and industrial buildings, longevity and durability are key to ensuring competitiveness for all companies.
Components that are manufactured by Brandauer must withstand constant exposure to water, pressure fluctuations, temperature variation and even chemical treatment. Brandauer has spent decades developing expertise in stamping and forming difficult materials that meet these requirements. Materials such as stainless steels, spring steels, and specialised copper alloys are all commonly used within this industry.
Working with these materials requires specialist tooling, tooling which our team have been developing and manufacturing for decades. But stamping these materials requires a deep understanding of how they behave under stress and manipulation; some materials may behave completely differently from each other when under this stress, and the knowledge Brandauer have gained over the years can be the difference between a component passing or failing its quality inspection. We have over 60 years of experience working with these difficult materials and have supplied the plumbing industry for many of these decades with multiple different components.

Problem
The customer came to Brandauer after working with an inconsistency in quality across their range of grab rings, along with higher costs and delivery issues of their entire range.
Solution
Brandauer’s 60+ years of stamping stainless-steel parts in volume, across a range of projects and tolerances. A completely unique process and innovation pathway was undertaken. With DFM reviews and process efficiency reviews conducted from the outset. This led to a completely new process and bespoke carbine tooling approach adapted to fit the Grabring supply specifically. Giving a higher output rate for the customer, saving them time and money.
