Automotive
Brandauer’s automotive components have been the foundation of our high-volume precision metal stamping capabilities for decades. With activity dating back over 40 years, Brandauer have delivered system-critical components that adhere to multiple criteria for material requirements and tolerance specifications.
We have a wealth of experience manufacturing components, from one-offs right the way through to millions per month, including precision machining and design development. There is no precision engineering project that we aren’t equipped for within the automotive sector.
Typical Components
Whilst Brandauer have the capabilities to manufacture completely bespoke components for a wide range of applications, some components find their way into the factory and have been made millions of times. These components include:
Interior trim clips
IDC pin connectors
Fine connector pins
EloPin® solderless connectors
Press-fit connectors
Electrical steel laminations
Over-mould components
Insert mouldable fretwork
Complex non-ferrous interconnection products
Stamped components for sensing applications
Rear-view mirror electrodes
Brandauer: The Hidden Force
From tyres and rear view mirrors to power steering and air conditioning, modern vehicles rely on incredibly small yet highly engineered components.
At Brandauer, we manufacture precision metal stampings and automotive components to exacting standards, supplying parts that help keep the automotive industry moving. Using over 160 years of engineering expertise, advanced tooling and high-speed precision manufacturing, we produce complex components that deliver reliability, consistency and performance at scale.
EloPin® Press-Fit.
Bespoke press-fit automotive connectors
Brandauer is the only full-service UK supplier of the patented EloPin® Press-Fit. Developed by TBS Sorig. This licensed solution enables the solderless connections of the pins to a PCB (printed circuit board), resulting in a gas-tight and reliable connection between the press-fit connector and the PCB.
The EloPin® places itself perfectly for automotive applications. With high-volume production embedded into the design of the EloPin®, this solderless solution can fit into many applications, from door connections, airbag modules, and tyre pressure sensors: anywhere where an electrical connection takes place! With multiple needle eye specifications and complete customisation of anything below said needle eye, this solution is perfect for all high-volume automotive connector needs.

Networking for continued innovation

Brandauer is a proud member of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The SMMT have been the voice of UK automotive manufacturers since the early 1900s, contributing to all sectors ranging from R&D, manufacturing of all wheeled vehicles (both commercial and consumer), tech and even consultancy, all whilst servicing and connecting the whole supply chain from OEMs right down to start-up companies.
We joined the SMMT to support the continued development of precision manufacturing within the automotive industry through quality, innovation and networking within the supply chain.
Automotive quality development
The automotive industry demands quality and tight tolerances at every stage of the supply chain, and even the smallest of tolerance issues can cause critical components to become non-functional.
With this in mind, we have dedicated ourselves to implementing IATF 16949 into our daily operations. Brandauer also has a dedicated QHSE Systems Engineer to ensure the smooth transition into IATF-compliant manufacturing.
The automotive industry has been part of Brandauer’s ecosystem for decades, and for current automotive customers, nothing will change. Brandauer has been working to these quality standards for many years now; this official implementation is just a way for us to formalise our extensive range of quality standards within the automotive industry.

Automotive case study
Automotive Electronics
Component name = Rear-view mirror electrode
Volume = 250m parts per annum
Value = $1m USD per annum
Problem
Complex development of a highly conductive, strong but mouldable product with a supply process from multiple supply chain sources.
Solution
The customer tapped into our extensive Beryllium Copper (BeCu) expertise. Alongside this, we provided a “one stop shop” for prototyping, tooling, manufacturing process development and heat treatment of components. This enabled a cost-effective, staged manufacturing process for the customer, saving them time, money and the headache of multiple suppliers.
