From charging your phone overnight to switching on a bedside lamp, bedrooms are filled with products that rely on precision-engineered metal components. While often hidden from view, these tiny parts play a vital role in the performance, safety and reliability of everyday electrical products.
Stator and rotor lamination applications
Brandauer manufactures stators and rotors for a range of electrical appliances, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners. They all require motor laminations to ensure proper running of all electric motors.
With innovation being a huge forefront in the motor lamination industry, requirements for thinner laminations for improved efficiency is now the norm. This has led Bradnauer on a decade-long journey to incorporate lamination manufacturing in their standard processes, manufacturing laminations in material thicknesses down to 0.1mm!
Stator and Rotor Laminations
Traditional use stator and rotor laminations for motors and generators, with the option to supply stator and rotor only and armature laminations.
Segmented Laminations
T-segment laminations are increasingly being used to maximise raw material utilisation and winding density.
Specialist Laminations
A range of bespoke transformer and choke laminations, including EI, EE and T&U laminations. The range also extends to solenoid and shunt laminations and shims.
Assemblies
A range of stacking options are available, including interlocking, bonding and welding, with a program of continued investment in the latest technologies, processes and equipment.
Prototype Laminations
In-house Wire EDM capability to single micron tolerances and access to laser cutting.

Problem
The customer came to Brandauer with the issues of a distinct lack of UK sources for precision stamping and in house toolmaking.
Solution
Brandauer transferred the tools from overseas territories. Once they arrived at the Birmingham facility, technical issues within the tooling were diagnosed and resolved in-house. Once the restoration was completed and changes implemented, delivery performance, cost and quality all improved within three months of project kick-off.
