Press shops
Brandauer’s press shop have been the beating heart of the business for over 160 years, with millions of components coming through the press shop every month. Brandauer can cater to all volume demands with reliability and superior quality every time.
Delivering precision stamping at unmatched speed
Brandauer’s press shop has been the key to success for the company since its inception in 1862, whether manufacturing pen nibs, Spitfire components, laminations for EV motors or even components for the Large Hadron Collider, Brandauer’s precision press shop has been the driving factor for all our successes.
Brandauer has only sourced the best in power press technology, with a press force capability range from 5T to 80T. Alongside the range of Yamada Dobby, Bruderer and Haulick Roos power presses (18T – 80T), the facility also comprises of Hydraulic and Hydro-Pneumatic 5 Tonne Hare Presses, Seyi (25T – 80T) and Minster (45T – 60T) Power Presses.

Capabilities for every pressing requirement
Brandauer offers the latest in bespoke modular manufacturing systems for pre-forming, stamping, and in-die riveting/tapping. These, along with a range of semi-automated and fully automated systems, are designed to ensure minimal human involvement in the ongoing production process, delivering the customers both cost savings and globally competitive pricing.
In addition, a fully equipped secondary operations capability on both manual and power press machines is available and can offer a three-shift capability to meet the most demanding supply schedules.

Quality and continuous improvement
Brandauer is continually developing and maintaining all areas of its business, with their press shop supported by innovative manufacturing processes and Quality Management Systems (QMS) that undergo constant internal audits by a dedicated Quality Assurance team and are benchmarked externally against the highest global standards.

Press shop capabilities range from low to high volume manufacturing
Brandauer has full manufacturing capacity for all components and capability ranges spanning from one-off to 5,000,000+ pa, with a range of tooling and manufacturing methods.
Brandauer has meticulously selected their press machines to ensure this capability range can be available to all, and below is a rough guide to understanding which pathway may be right for you.
It is important to note that all projects are different, and your bespoke project may require a specific method of manufacturing. But don’t worry! You can speak with anyone from the Brandauer team, and we can guide you through this process.
One-off to 10,000pa = laser cutting and metal forming
This manufacturing process is the most cost-effective way to manufacture components with a lower volume. Investing in a tooled solution can come at a larger upfront cost and for some companies, this is not sustainable. This solution provides precision components to all companies that do not want to incur this initial cost.

10,000 – 50,000 pa = simple blanking and second ops tooling
This level of manufacturing primarily uses our dedicated Special Products Division (SPD) for consistent, low-volume manufacturing. Whether it’s a simple blank component or one with a second ops tool included, the Special Products Division caters to all consistent, low-volume manufacturing.

50,000 – 250,000 pa = basic precision progression tool (standard fixed)
This volume capacity begins to look at basic progression tools that Brandauer supplies. With component prices dropping significantly, as manual labour once the press is running is minimal, and manufacturing is consistent. The initial tooling investment begins to pay itself back a lot quicker than lower volumes.

250,000 – 5 million pa = Precision progression tool (Precsion Fixed)
Once surpassed 250,000pa, you begin to look at consistent, high-volume press production. Brandauer uses bespoke precision progression tools within their press machines to run consistent high-volume production. This method of manufacturing spans such a wide scope of potential products and industries, and has been a reliable method of high-volume manufacturing for over 160+ years for Brandauer.

5,000,000+ pa = Modular precision progression tool (Fully Modular)
Brandauer’s top-of-the-range offering for high-quality, high-volume precision manufacturing. With capabilities in many sectors and applications, this method of manufacturing not only provides the most cost-effective way for high-volume manufacturing, but it’s also the method that ensures high-quality through every stamp of the power-press. These tools and methods only use the best of Brandauer’s power press machines, and previously have built bespoke production lines with bespoke press machines being integrated for specific projects!

Journey of a Brandauer component
Part 5 – The Manufacturing
At this stage, the component is officially ready for manufacturing, having passed all prior tests. Once the press machine is set, an initial sample is taken for inspection, and production begins. Brandauer’s power press machines can operate continuously, meeting any customer volume requirements, while the efficient factory layout and easy-to-run processes allow operators to manage multiple presses simultaneously, maximising output from the facility.
