Brandauer’s machine shop has evolved over the years of history. It began as a division of the toolroom, only serving to manufacture Brandauer’s precision tools. But as time passed. The machine shop has become its own division within Brandauer. Becoming self-sustainable to supply precision-machined components to multiple applications across the globe.

Brandauer uses the latest George Fisher (GF) Agie Charmilles wire EDM technology, all fully interfaced with the appropriate CAD/CAM software. This technology utilisation is very rare in the UK and carries many benefits unmatched by competition, with tolerance capability unseen by other conventional machining processes, it makes the perfect solution for Brandauer’s precision tools and dedicated precision machined components.
Brandauer operates two AgieCharmilles GF CUT 3000 machines, the staple in Brandauer’s WEDM cell. These machines can work to within 1 micron tolerances on a long bed CNC table geometry, making high-speed, high precision, 1,250mm modular tools a reality. Brandauer can machine with wires as small as 0.05mm in diameter, and thanks to the crossed table situated directly under the workpiece to be machined, high-precision guides and high-precision glass scales are situated as close as possible to the machining zone.
Operating alongside the GF AgieCharmilles CUT 3000s is an abundance of other advanced machinery, including the GF AgieCharmilles CUT E600 for general-purpose EDM machining and the GF AgieCharmilles DRILL 20, often used for drilling starting holes with the electrode range Ø 0.1 – 3.0 mm.
